Abstract: Medical Intelligence and Language Engineering Laboratory at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science is engaged in research, development and deployment of technologies that facilitate individuals, organisations and governments to easily carry out their daily operations, amidst the existence of multiple, living Indian languages. Using the OCR and TTS developed, hundreds of books have been converted to Braille and audio books, which are being used by blind students. Also developed are online handwriting recognition, browser-based tools to instantly convert text across different Indian scripts that enable people to read text in other languages through their own script. Resume: இந்தியாவில் பெங்களூரிலுள்ள இந்திய அறிவியல் பயிலகத்தில் மின் பொறியியல் துறையிலுள்ளது மருத்துவ நுண்ணறிவு மற்றும் மொழிப் பொறியியல் ஆய்வகம், இந்த ஆய்வகம், மொழித் தொழில்நுட்பங்களின் ஆராய்ச்சி, உருவாக்கம் மற்றும் பயனாக்கம் ஆகியவற்றில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளது. இதனால், பல்வேறு வழங்கு மொழிகள் இந்தியாவில் இருப்பினும், தனிநபர்கள், நிறுவனங்கள் மற்றும் அரசாங்கங்கள் தங்கள் அன்றாட நடவடிக்கைகளை எளிதில் மேற்கொள்ள இயலும். இங்கு உருவாக்கப்பட்ட அச்சிடப்பட்ட உரை எழுத்து உணர்வி மற்றும் பேச்சு உருவாக்கி ஆகிய மென்பொருட்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி, அறுநூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பள்ளி, மற்றும் கல்லூரிப் புத்தகங்கள் பிரெய்ல் மற்றும் பேசும் புத்தகங்களாக மாற்றப்பட்டுள்ளன. அவை பார்வையற்ற மாணவர்களால் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. டேப்லெட்களில் எழுதப்பட்ட உரையை உணரும் கருவியும் உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மற்றும் வெவ்வேறு இந்திய லிபிகளிலுள்ள உரையை உடனடியாக பிற மொழிகளில் மாற்றுவதற்கான உலாவி அடிப்படையிலான மென்பொருளால் தங்கள் சொந்த எழுத்துரு மூலமே படிக்க முடியும்.
